3D printers require maintenance, and from time to time may require replacement of parts, so disassembling them for diagnosis, repair and maintenance is expected to be done as a part of printer ownership, and does not void the warranty.
This would include general maintenance as listed below:
- Cleaning components exposed to resin
- Grease / oil application to rods / rails
- Replacement of moving parts, such as motors
- Replacement of build plates, hot ends and nozzles as they wear
- Review / replacement of wiring / connections / LCD components
A how-to document is attached at the bottom - extensive videos on printer maintenance available here.
Many manufacturers have dedicated support centres designed specifically to deal with issues in relation to their products and may even provide in home support and advanced troubleshooting. In many circumstances, the manufacturer may therefore be able to provide a quicker assessment of, and remedy for, any issue with your product, even if the manufacturer’s warranty has expired. You may therefore prefer to contact the manufacturer rather than Jaycar, although you are not obliged to do this and, if at any time you are not satisfied with the manufacturer’s remedy in relation to your legal rights, you can contact the store manager of your nearest Jaycar store for assistance.

We're also here to help. Before contacting us or visiting a store to talk with our teams, we recommend first running the following steps,
- Home your machine
- Heat the extruder
- If the extruder gets to temperature, manually extrude some filament
If these steps are successful, the issue most likely lies with your sliced file & it may not be worth bringing the machine down. However, if you are still having issues, please contact us.
