The YN8351 AC1200 IP65 Outdoor range extender is ideal for extending your existing ISP modem/router's Wi-Fi to hard-to-reach areas, and also provides a single cabled network port at the remote location for non-Wi-Fi devices.
Decide how you want to use the unit:
You will need to choose between two different usage options:
I have a network cable from my existing modem router at the location where I want Wi-Fi
I do not have a cable from my existing modem router and need to extend via Wi-Fi only
I have run a network cable from my modem router to where I want Wi-Fi
You will need a phone or a device with Wi-Fi to set the unit's admin and Wi-Fi password. Run through the steps below before you mount the unit and attach the cable gland. If your existing network cable is plugged into a POE switch, you won't need the mains power adapter, cable, or the white box in the package.
- Unpack the extender and attach the antennas (they are labeled 2.4G and 5G, as are the sockets)
- Plug your existing network cable into the white box socket labelled LAN DATA IN
- Plug the Wavlink network cable into the white box socket labelled POE
- Plug the other end of the Wavlink cable to the POE IN socket on the outdoor extender
- Plug the mains plugpack into a power socket and connect it to the white box
- Press the button on the white box. A green LED should come on
- Wait until the extender's LED labelled STATUS is flashing fast
- On your phone, go to Settings, Wi-Fi, and join any visible WAVLINK access point
- If the phone asks if you want to connect always, choose this option
- Wait for the WAVLINK admin page to load (Android / PC: open a browser and go to 192.168.30.1)
- Type the password admin and press Login
- Choose Australia from the country/region dropdown
- Choose your timezone
- Type a new password to replace admin in the Admin Password box (numbers only are fine)
- Type the same password again in the Confirm Password box
- Press Next
- You can retype the SSID (this is the Wi-Fi name you will connect to) or leave it as is.
- Type a Wi-Fi password (you can use the same password as your existing Wi-Fi)
- Press Save
- The unit will reboot. When the signal/status LEDs go solid, you can connect to the new Wi-Fi AP
- You can connect a cabled network device, or network switch, to the LAN port on the extender

- Plug the Wavlink network cable into the white box socket labelled POE

- Plug the mains plugpack into a power socket and connect it to the white box
- Press the button on the white box. A green LED should come on
- Wait until the extender's LED labelled STATUS is flashing fast
