I need help installing the Windows software for QM1598 Pro Sound Level Meter with Calibrator

Make sure you are logged on as an administrator before downloading and installing the software.

Windows needs to install a driver from the Internet. Plug the meter into a USB port, then click Start, type "Windows Update", open Windows Update and click Optional Updates. Install any CP2xx drivers you find there.

Once the driver is installed, right-click Start, choose Device Manager, and find the COM port that was installed - it may be COM3. Open the Sound Meter software, click Com Port (C), then Manual (M), choose the specific COM port number and press OK.
